SUSTAINABLE HIGH PERFORMING TEAMS ENFORCE RECOVERY
We don’t just work hard; we recover smart!
We all recognise the significance of taking breaks and rejuvenating ourselves, both personally and professionally. Nowadays, most organisations fully embrace this necessity. Some are much better than others!
However, I’ve noticed a significant distinction at a more granular level. A truly ‘sustainable’ high-performing team comprehends that this isn’t just a trendy corporate notion or a loosely encouraged practice but rather an expectation that the team implements.
Team members actively ensure/encourage their colleagues to engage in some form of recovery. This is crucial to ensure that when they’re at work, they contribute to the team’s objectives to the best of their abilities, thereby meeting the team’s expectations, especially in terms of pace, without succumbing to fatigue or, worst still, illness.
